What does it mean on uncleared area when it says "expansion available requires ### stars"? Is there a way to unlock not requiring compasses?

Every plot expansion has a star requirement and a compass requirement. Must meet both to expand.

What does expansion unavailable mean 0 0 REPORT

You can only expand to a plot that is adjacent to an already open plot. These plots are lightly clouded. If it is not adjacent, it will say expansion unavailable. These plots are densely clouded.
