Generally, rewards are added to your totals as soon as you visualize them. For example, in the Detectives Needed Key Challenge, if you have reached the 3rd prize which you know to be compasses, but haven't tapped on the icon to to see and claim it, you can hold off claiming it until you have a Help Wanted task asking for compasses. However, the star boxes will give you the rewards as soon as you open them, whether or not you flipped the card to reveal the rewards.

Not when the diamonds, coins & energy are rewards from hidden object scenes, not in the star boxes. Things added from 'star boxes' & 'detectives needed' are simple & direct. 0 0 REPORT

For rewards immediately following hidden object scenes, the rewards (energy, coins, diamonds, building materials, compasses) are added to your total before the suitcase contents are revealed to you. So when you visualize the reveal, it should already be in your totals.Guest Replied
