So Laurel island land is all freed up to store things. Where do my compasses go that I keep earning since I don't need them to clear the clouds? Are they stored until a new island is available?

Yes, they are stored for future islands. If you want to know how many you have, you can contact Wooga support; they'd be happy to tell you.

After you've completely removed all the clouds from Laurel Island, Willow Island is next and will appear on your map. After Willow Island is Snowdrop Island.

A 6th island is planned to follow Snowdrop Island, but the estimated date and name are not known at this time.
