When visiting friends in the game, they have way better decor than I do. How are those obtained?

There are many ways to obtain special decorations. Every month, the seasonal set changes, with at least 8 new decos. Some decos are bought with real money. Some decos are earned from completing timed events: Detectives Needed, Fairground Fortune, Sweep the Board, Travels, and Club Mysteries. Beautifications are earned from playing Memoirs. Plus, there are some one-time only decos to commemorate game anniversaries and completing each volume in the game. The more and longer you play, the more special decos you can get.
