How to Improve your Weapons in Snowbreak: Containment Zone

By Paul | Sep 3rd 2023

We have already covered the different means of collecting weapons in the game. However, a weapon in default condition isn't going to take your squad far in the game's ever-increasing challenges and modes. In this article, we will discuss the various methods of improving your weapons to maximize your operatives' combat prowess.

How to Access your Weapon Details in Snowbreak: Containment Zone

To view or change an operative's weapon, you have to open the Operatives menu then click/tap on the Weapon option on the left side of the screen. From there, you'll be able to see the various information about the currently-equipped weapon like its damage type, upgrade level, rarity, stats, and special effects.

You'll also be able to inspect how the weapon looks closely, down to its cosmetic appearance including the parts you have installed on it. From there, you can further upgrade or customize your weapon by tapping the "Train" button in the lower-right corner.

In the Parameters screen, you'll be able to see more details about the weapon, especially its effective distance and how much damage reduction is applied to the weapon when used against a farther target. You can freely rotate the weapon in this screen for inspection.

Training (Upgrade)

In this screen, you'll be able to spend consumable items called Augmentation Kits. These consumables have varying rarities, with different amounts of weapon EXP added when used. Aside from these augmentation kits, you can also use green and blue tier weapons as fodder. They're quite common and not that effective to be usable by your operatives so they're better off used as EXP materials. You can conveniently farm these augmentation kits from the Operations menu > Peacemaker level.

Weapons have a level limit or ceiling, which is every 10 levels. For example, a LV1 weapon can only be upgraded up to LV20. In order to get past this limit, you have to perform a weapon ascension process, which we will discuss below.

Weapon Ascension

Weapon Ascension allows you to get past the level limit of a weapon, allowing you to further increase the weapon's upgrade level, further strengthening it. The three weapon ascension materials needed are:

* Synthetic Particles (green)

* Hydrocarbon Plastic (blue)

* Monopolar Fibers (purple)

* Carbon Atomic Plate (gold)

These ascension materials can be obtained from tasks, event rewards, and the shop. They can also be farmed from the Operations menu > Reforging Flames level. The higher rarity ascension materials are quite hard to come by so make sure to purchase them whenever they're available and use them only on 5-star weapons or heavily-modded 4-star weapons.

How to Customize your Weapons in Snowbreak: Containment Zone

The game has a weapon customization system which will allow you to install up to four parts on the selected weapon. All available parts are shared among the same weapon class. That means if one pistol has a special part already installed, you can still install the same part on other pistols, regardless of rarity, model, and level.

Modification

This allows you to consume a duplicate of the same weapon to permanently enhance the effects of the base weapon. You can do this up to five times which will bring out the weapon's effects to full potential. A fully modded 4-star weapon's performance can be almost comparable to a non-modified 5-star weapon. One thing to note is that this process is expensive so only do this for weapons that you're willing to use regularly.

Unlocking Parts

Weapon parts are unlocked through the methods listed below. To review the requirement for unlocking a part, simply click/tap on the part you want to examine and the unlocking condition will be displayed on the same screen.

* Progress through the main story

* Acquire a weapon for the first time

* Upgrade a weapon to LV50

Only weapons 4 star and above will have special parts that can be unlocked after they reach LV50. This means any 4-star or above weapons you have is worth upgrading to LV50 as long as they have a special part that can be unlocked. You'll be able to see more details about the unlockable part by tapping the part's icon in the lower-left corner of the weapon upgrade/ascension screen, as shown below.

Unlocked parts can be equipped on the same weapon class. (Parts unlocked from pistols can only be installed on pistols). The same part can be equipped by different weapons at the same time.
