Can you change the gender of your companions?

Yes, you can change the ones that you have unlocked. Go to the Companion screen from the home screen. Select your active companion and there is a 'Magic Mirror' option on the left. This changes the gender appearance of your companion.

To activate it though you need to buy a magic mirror item from the Mall. This costs 300 diamonds.
