What do you do when the heart trail does not appear?

You can always look on the map and it will show where your mate is at as it shows the boss and your den just that it shows a heart.

If no hearts appear, press the eye and it will appear as if it were a prey but green

You can go out of the app then go back in then go to the map and it will show you where your mate is, press on the heart(the heart is you mate) and when you howl it will show the point where you clicked. I hope I was of help!
