To get a cub, it doesn't matter how many animals you kill, you just have to get to appropriate level. (If you want to have your first cub, which I assume is the case, both wolves must be level 10 and sleep in a den.) Once you sleep in the den, your female wolf will be pregnant. She does not give birth immediately. There is a special level that she must go through befor giving birth. The progess bar on the bottom will be pink when she is in this stage. The female will be slower and not be as strong when in this stage, so i recommend either having the male bring her food or going in to multiplayer and asking for help. Once the progess bar is full, she will be ready to give birth. To have her give birth, have her sleep in the den. If you are asking how many animals the female must be fed until she is ready to give birth, the amount varies from the amount fed, the type of animal and how much she participates in the hunt. For me, it took about two rabbits (hunted herself)(gives you more xp when the wolf hunts itself) two roosters from the farm mode, (hunted herself) two skunks (hunted for her) one raccoon (hunted for her) and three squirrels (hunted for her). Although, like I said, it varies from wolf to wolf.
