Well I'm not really sure if this'll work, but in the menu, go to your pet and unselect it and close the menu and open it again and reselect it. Hope this helps you.

If you want catch caimans you need go to boss. Not fight him. But be there nearby. Kill animals there. Then u will see sometimes some caimans. If your pet can’t fight with you. Go outside your den and unequip and equip him again ( outside) if he goes under ground. Do it again. Until he stays (I have same problem)
