Why can’t I play in multiplayer?

Why can’t I play in multiplayer? When I try to go multiplayer it first says ”checking your data” and after that ”connection timed out, please try again later”. I have tried it with and without wifi and I have tried it without any other apps on the background at the same time, but still it wont let me play. It has been now going on for 2 days. What would be the reason and how to solve this?
Boy me it doesnt work either. It says there was a wrong secret Code but I never made one. I am so confused and want to play with my sister but now I am stuck in singleplayer. Can anyone help with that problem?
I repeatedly kept trying, and trying, but it says, “Reason: exception for connection.” And I’m so confused! But anyways, any chance anyone can help? Please? (Oh, and also I have connection to Wi-Fi, but I have 2 bars.)
This is stupid-_- Sometimes if I turn of my internet, I can finally connect to friend chat and clan chat, but after one message in clan chat I couldn’t send and other messages (it said no friends were online.) I am going to try completely turn off my phone (Hit the off button and hold) and turn it back on to see if it helps:(
