Are you sure it was your mate, and not your cub or offspring? If so, you should restart the game (Double tapping the home button and swiping up on WildCraft) or try clearing the app cache. If none of those work, you should contact customer support, and tell them what’s going on. Sorry if I wasn’t that helpful.
