How to clear the items and obstacles in Vineyard Valley

The puzzle levels in Vineyard Valley have many different objectives to complete and obstacles to get in your way. In many cases the objective is to clear the a number of tiles and the various obstacle items present on the board. In case you need a reminder of how to deal with each of these and some tips to do so this page will help you with that.

Boxes

Match next to them to clear them, or hit them with boosters. Boxes can have multiple stages to them which you can see by the number of cross prices of wood on the front, 1 2 or 3. Te more prices the more timers you need to match next to them to clear them. Boxes are fixed in position and won't fall if there is nothing below them.

Cups

Match next to them to clear them, or hit them with boosters. Cups will fall if tiles below them are cleared.

Coloured Cups

Some cups will appear with colours. These work as above but will only clear if the same colour tile is matched next to them. (they can still be cleared with boosters though)

Ice sculptures

These are shaped like swans, and can be single tiles sized and larger 4 tile sized. Clear tiles below them to drop them to the bottom of the screen to collect them.

If you can match 5 blocks to place a bottle rocket in the column below or above the swan and you are lucky enough that it is a vertical firing rocket then you will clear all the pieces immediately. If it is not vertical then you may be able to get a second rocket adjacent to it to make it fire in both directions.

Bubbles

Tiles that are covered with a bubble just need to be matched to clear the bubble as an objective in the game. Match any tiles with drops that you can but if in doubt the safest strategy is to match pairs or more of tiles towards the top of the screen with drops on them as these may no longer match if you select ones lower down first.

Grape Baskets

Grapes appear in baskets on the game board. Making a match next to the basket will collect 1 bunch of grapes from it. The basket will remain where it is though. It cannot be cleared but your objective is to keep collecting grapes. Keep making matches next to the basket to collect all the grapes you need for the level.

You can also hit the baskets with rockets and other boosters to collect grapes.
