I'm not sure if you have an ad blocker, a slow connection, an account known to be held by a minor, or live in an area whose laws affect ads, but for me the buttons are only grey sometimes and will eventually turn pink. It makes you wait about a minute between ads to reduce waits by 30 minutes, but other than that I think for me it is either lag or that they maybe don't always have advertisers. But you should write a 1 or 2 star complaint in the app store, since some apps will respond helpfully to try to get you to give them more stars.
