How do I delete my account, and does it remove the stronghold from the game?

You have to go into contact support, click on the FAQ, select any question and give it a thumbs down saying it did not solve your issue. On the next screen, choose account problem, then lower down there will be want to delete account.

You will then be taken to the account removal request form. There you will need to supply the kingdom number, the lord name, the original date that the account was created, the reason it is to be deleted, your last login date, how much gold remains whether or not you have purchased packs before and if you have, 3 screen shots of those bills. You are then given a box to explain why in detail and another selection to confirm yes you want it deleted.
