I have completed my private set equipment group. Do I need to dismantle it and continue working on the next level of equipment?

You don’t NEED to dismantle it. However, it’s easier and faster to use the materials gained from dismantling the old set in order to forge and enhance the new set. If you don’t dismantle your Private set, it will simply take longer to build up the new set.
