How do you not pop balloons without the umbrella?

Umbrella is for water balloons

The water balloons only pop if you directly touch them with your own balloon. Only pop balloons next to the water balloons, or above them. When you pop balloons above the water balloon, and the water balloon falls together with other balloons, the water will not hit you.
