Qualifying

Qualifying in Race Team Manager is affected by a number of factors. Before a race begins, you will see your position in the qualifying standings. You are, at this point, still able to improve your position by tapping the Upgrade tab and buying performance enhancements for your car. Over the course of a Championship, the other cars you are competing against will receive performance upgrades, and if you do not upgrade your own car to match them, you will find yourself slipping down the pecking order. Before you purchase a particular upgrade you can see what the performance gain will be, and, once you've bought it, your new qualifying position will be shown to you via the Upgrade screen itself - and that's before any driver bonuses.

Also affecting qualifying positions is the quality of your driver. After your car has been taken into account, your driver's stats can add at least a place or two onto it to give you a better position. But they can also lose you some places too! So it's important to keep both your driver and your car up to scratch.
