Race Team Manager Guide
Race Team Manager tasks you with controlling the strategy of a racing team, picking the cars, drivers, staff, facilities and equipment, as well as physically doing some of the driving, and deciding on race day strategy too.
The game is split into four championships, each allowing you to select from four different vehicles. Three of these in each class will have a clear strength, whether it's Power, Handling or Efficiency. Your car's performance has a bearing on what position it qualifies for each race in. In addition, the strength of the driver in the car will also have the ability to add (or reduce) the car's qualifying position. Once all that is out of the way, the race can begin.
The race takes place in a 2D view, with key events flashing up on screen. You can see how close your car is to others on the track, though generally the game seems to pick events are it chooses rather than in any logical order. If you choose to race in an aggressive manner, you will have more overtaking opportunities than if you drive cautiously. When any events requiring your input occur, you will be taken to a mini-game screen. If you perform these mini-games successfully, you will gain a place (or in the case of a pit stop or blocking move, merely limit the damage).
You can conserve fuel and your car's 'health', or Service meter, by driving more carefully. Once the race ends, you have the opportunity to Upgrade your car, as well as tinker with your team, facilities and anything else to try to improve for the next race. This continues until you come first in any particular championship, at which point you unlock the next one.
