CatNap is a primary enemy that you will face in Chapter 3 of Poppy Playtime. Teased to us initially in the trailers for Chapter 3 CatNap is the resident and overseer of Playcare, the underground, onsite, orphanage that seemsto have been the testing ground for the Playitime Co's highly questionable experiments.

Originally a toy to help the Cuddle Critters and the children to get their sleep he now lives in Home Sweet Home where his Red Spoke gas waits to give you nightmares.

"CatNap is a calming presence for the critters and ensures he and his friends always have the right amount of sleep to jump start the morning's play! End of the day, there's nothing CatNap enjoys more than watching his friends sleep soundly."

Where do we see CatNap

CatNap appears at the very start of Chapter 3 but we only see part of him as he dumps our semi conscious body down the trash chute. Later after entering his domain of Home Sweet Home he will continue to appear in brief glimpses and .....

Many fans have commented that they feel he deserved more on screen time in Chapter 3. But his ominous background presence, the occasional scare and the threat of his red smoke and the hallucination sequence all give him plenty of weight in the chapter.

What do we know about CatNap

CatNap in the game is a huge malformed cat like figure with purple fur and a huge mouth that can belch out the Red Smoke that you must stay clear of. Mostly keeping to the shadows and stalking you like a trapped mouse he doesn't say much in the game but does know how to make and follow up on a threat.

CatNap was originally created as a part of the Smiling Critters group of cartoon animals, tasked with being a calming presence for them and helping to get them to sleep. The character in Chapter 3 is also know as experiment 1188 and through a mistake or intention his calming lavender scent has been replaced with a noxious Red Smoke that gives those who inhale it nightmarish hallucinations.

The human personality of CatNap comes from Theodore Grambell, an orphan living in Playcare who had made friends with the Prototype before the uprising. When Theodore was electrocuted the Prototype chose to save him and after he was then chosen to posdess the CatNap body he became the Prototypes willing servant.

CatNaps home is Playcare the orphanage at the center of Playtime Co. He continues to control the Home Sweet Home building where the former residents of the orphanage slept.

What has happened to CatNap

At the finale of Chapter 3 after CatNap has stalked us, played with us and then is eventually defeated we see him being finally killed and then dragged away by the sinister hand that seems to be part of the Prototype.

CatNap seems to give up his life to serve the wishes of his master and former savior the Prototype. Is he being laid to rest somewhere or will his body and abilities be of use to the mysterious mastermind controlling all of the Playtime Co. evil creations.
