New Mobile RPGs for October 2026: Android and iOS
October is the month Monster Hunter arrives on mobile in earnest. Capcom's new hunting RPG arrives on Android and iOS at the end of the month, a Netflix-published port of a console entry is already out, and two of the biggest live-service RPGs have dated their next versions.
Monster Hunter Outlanders is the headline, free-to-play and out on the 29th. Monster Hunter Rise has already turned up through Netflix Games, Arknights: Endfield opens a painted world on the 15th, and Zenless Zone Zero puts you in a mech on the 21st.
Here's the full list.

New Mobile RPGs Released in October 2026
Monster Hunter Rise
Release: October 2026
Monster Hunter Rise is on Android and iOS through Netflix Games, created by Capcom and published by Netflix, so a Netflix membership is required and there's nothing else to pay.
It's the 2021 console and PC entry brought over, built around hunting quests against monsters threatening the village of Kamura. Wirebugs handle the movement, letting you scale walls and reposition mid-fight, and Buddies — Palamutes and Palicoes — come along to help. Gear is crafted from what you carve off the monsters you beat.
You can hunt alone or online with up to three other players. The mobile version adds unlockable event quests, touch controls and an automatic Recovery Button, which takes some of the item-juggling out of a hunt.
New Mobile RPGs Coming in October 2026
Monster Hunter Outlanders
Expected: 29th October 2026
Capcom confirmed Monster Hunter Outlanders for 29th October on iOS and Android. It's developed by TiMi Studio Group, it's free-to-play with in-app purchases, and the launch is global apart from Mainland China, which is set for 2027 or later.
Capcom calls it survival hunting action, and it's a new entry rather than a port: the setting is Aesoland, a new world, with original monsters including the Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal. You hunt, gather resources and craft equipment, with companions drawn from different regions joining you in the field.
The controls have been built for phones rather than adapted from a controller layout, which is the part worth watching given how much of the series' identity sits in its combat.
Dragonbound: Wings of Magic
Expected: 15th October 2026
Dragonbound: Wings of Magic is a fantasy MMORPG from Efun Game, with pre-registration open on both stores. The App Store listing points to 15th October, though Efun hasn't confirmed the date itself.
You enrol at the Dragon Knight Academy and raise your own dragon, which fights alongside you and can be ridden into aerial combat. Classes aren't fixed, so you can switch role, weapon and skills rather than committing at character creation.
Outside combat there's the Heimdall Continent to explore and a magical home to build, and the group content centres on teaming up to bring down a Demon Dragon.
Mobile RPG Updates and Events in October 2026
Arknights: Endfield
Update: 15th October 2026
Version 1.6 of Arknights: Endfield, Sanctuary of Ink, arrives on 15th October, and the new map is the reason to care. Si's Painting is a painted world of mountains and forests with locations such as Yuanyuan Manor, and you use Si's Miracle Brush to change the environment as you go. It brings new enemies and a boss with it.
Two six-star Operators come with the version. Si is a Cryo Supporter built around the Artful Intent debuff and Ink Souls, handling support and damage, and Argent Flow is an Electric Guard who mixes Electric and Physical damage while applying Vulnerability and Electrification. Seven-day login events give five free pulls for each of them.
There's a countryside inn to run in Yuanyuan's Blazing Stoves, new exploration activities, extra stages for existing modes, and endgame challenges that pay out pull currency. Contingency Contract returns with new mechanics too.
Zenless Zone Zero
Update: 21st October 2026
Version 3.3 of Zenless Zone Zero, Journey to the Sky, lands on 21st October and adds mech combat to the main story. Lindverne builds them using her Karma Core ability, and piloting one means switching between melee and ranged attacks, triggering lasers after EX Specials or dodges, and using the environment — shooting explosives, throwing heavy objects around.
The story pushes the Roscaelifer arc on. Quiestude Isle, the skyport that controls access to Booastrum, is held by enemy forces, and taking it back forces Phoenix and Severian to work together while Lindverne digs into the Sunbringers and their Karma Cores.
Both arrive as S-Rank Agents. Phoenix is a Fire Anomaly Agent in the first half, with a Core Skill that burns Anomaly-affected enemies and lets her revive at full HP after a fatal blow. Severian follows in the second half as a Wind Attack Agent whose Core Skill auto-dodges a hit and counterattacks. Events include Night of Supernatural Tricks and the Spooky Trial, a three-round challenge from Master Devil with Candle Cores to collect and sell, and the check-in events pay out 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
Honkai: Star Rail
Update: 17th September 2026
Version 4.6 of Honkai: Star Rail, Dance With the Beast Before Moonrise, is the current one, so it's what October is being played on until the next version lands.
Pearl is the new character, an Ice Agent on the Elation path, with Evanescia and Mortenax Blade returning alongside her. The Trailblaze Mission of the same name continues the Astropolis story, and there are new maps, enemies and stages to work through with it.
Events include Love, Ghosts & Robots and Interastral Peace Gala: One Take, and two outfits arrived with the version — Lunar Blossoming for Evanescia and Warm Cotton Skies for Hyacine.
Upcoming Mobile RPGs on the Horizon
Silver Palace
Expected: TBA
Silver Palace is Elementa Games' open-world detective RPG, and it's still sitting on pre-registration with no date. The Google Play listing hasn't been touched since mid-August, so nothing has moved since we flagged it last month.
The pitch hasn't changed either, and it's still an unusual one: an action RPG built around investigating cases in the city of Silvernia, where you can play it as a rising real-estate magnate or as someone who mostly turns up at the same small café. Companions and relationships feed into how the story goes.
That's October for mobile RPGs. Genshin Impact is still running version 7.1 and its sixth anniversary content, and if you want something substantial you've probably missed, Duet Night Abyss has passed a million downloads on Android with no character or weapon banners at all — everything is earned in game. We'll be back with November's RPG picks next month.
