New Idle Games for Mobile in October 2026: Android and iOS
October is a quieter month for brand-new idle games on Android and iOS, but there's a new castle defence idle RPG out, two of the genre's biggest names have fresh seasons running, and the next wave of idle RPGs is already taking pre-registrations.
Archer Castle: AFK Idle RPG has arrived on Android after a September listing date slipped, AFK Journey has its Veil of Memories season running through the month, CookieRun: Crumble has added another Cookie, and EGGRYPTO X is the one to watch for later in the year.
Here's the full list.

New Idle Games Released in October 2026
Archer Castle: AFK Idle RPG
Release: October 2026 (Android)
SPRING Games has Archer Castle: AFK Idle RPG live on Google Play, where it has already passed 100,000 downloads. It's free with in-app purchases and ads. The App Store listing is still showing an expected date of 30th September, so the iOS version hasn't gone live yet.
It mixes castle defence with building and management. Battles are quick and action-led, and the deck building side counts 115 skills to put together, so what you take into a defence is as much the point as the defending.
The idle part does the rest. Your character and your territory keep developing while you're away, and there are 180 collectible pets called Elmonsters to work through, plus gear that changes how your character looks rather than just the numbers.
Idle Game Updates and Events in October 2026
AFK Journey
Update: 24th September 2026
Farlight's current season for AFK Journey is Veil of Memories, version 1.8.1, and it's the content you'll be playing through October.
Getting into it takes some progress first. The season only opens on servers that have been running for at least 21 days, and you need to reach Level 240 with the Hands of Resonance and finish New Journey before it unlocks. After that, the tutorial quests start you on the season's storyline, Ode to Fate.
CookieRun: Crumble
Update: 2nd October 2026
Devsisters opened October in CookieRun: Crumble by adding Chardonnay Cookie to the roster, which is the main reason to update if you've been building a team.
The rest is depth for players who had run out of things to clear: the Daily Dungeon and the Laboratory both have more levels now.
Best Idle Games Still Worth Playing on Android and iOS
Idle Heroes
Update: 2nd September 2026
Idle Heroes has been running since 2016 and DHGames is still adding systems to it. The current build opened the Fantasy Arcade as a new area and added Flora's Craft Workshop, where you drag materials together to synthesise items, along with a magical workshop of your own to build.
Two heroes came with it, Yorhm Tum, Lord of Sparkles, and Patricia, Interstellar Huntress, each with a skin โ The Guardian of Christmas Eve and Bewitching Heart Thief respectively.
MapleStory: Idle RPG
Update: 17th September 2026
NEXON's MapleStory: Idle RPG has had a round of housekeeping rather than new bosses this time. The costume system has been enhanced and the town system revamped, with new events added and a set of interface improvements on top.
If you came in for the Pink Bean raid last month, that content is still there โ this update is about making the parts around it easier to live with.
Legend of Mushroom
Update: 30th September 2026
Legend of Mushroom is Joy Nice Games' idle RPG about a mushroom trying to become human, and the store listing puts it past 30 million downloads worldwide. There's a 3,000-draw giveaway running on it at the moment, which is the cheapest way in if you've never played it.
Progression has no level cap, gear comes from tapping the Genie rather than grinding battles, and you pick a class and customise how your mushroom looks. The social side is alliances: you join one to take on the evil dragons in the boss challenge, and alliances compete against each other on top of that. There's a garden to build and defend as well, with minerals to mine and thieves to catch.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms
Update: 6th October 2026
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms turned nine in September, and Codename Entertainment has kept to its usual cadence since, with the current build dated 6th October. The notes are bug fixes and groundwork for upcoming events, which is how this game runs between its headline weeks.
It's still the pick for anyone who wants Dungeons & Dragons characters doing the idling. The formation puzzle underneath it โ which champions you place where, and which buffs line up โ is what separates it from tapping for numbers.
Upcoming Idle Games on the Horizon
EGGRYPTO X
Expected: Autumn 2026
EGGRYPTO X, whose full title is The Great Adventure on Treasure Island, is GameWith NFT's monster-raising idle RPG, and pre-registration is open on both stores. The studio has it down for this autumn, and the App Store listing points to 30th November.
You hatch monsters from eggs, build a team and send them out exploring, and they keep growing while you're offline. The generational system is the interesting part: abilities and skills pass down between monsters, and the right combinations awaken ancient ones.
Battles are hack-and-slash with chibi monsters, up to five at a time against the Giant God, and raids take up to 20 players. Treasures you collect along the way strengthen the party. Pre-registering earns summon tickets and other rewards.
That's October for idle games. Transformers: Eternal War and Blade&Shield Girl: Idle RPG both launched last month and are still finding their feet, and CodeDragon has told players it's preparing a new release. We'll be back with November's idle picks next month.
