Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Beginners Guide and Tips

Grab those offline rewards

Even when you are not playing, you are still stacking rewards, make sure when you log in to the game, you collect your offline rewards and use them to level up your favorite character.

Quests

Quests are a great way of picking up some easy rewards, split across daily, weekly and achievements, quests are fairly simple tasks that have rewards attached. Check the quests tab in the game for full details and to collect what you've already completed. Make sure you check the lists too as you may be close to completing some more or just have to do certain small things to complete others.

Quest rewards are a great stable way of getting a decent daily amount of material to help level up your characters.

Summon

Expand your roster by summoning new characters to join you. Head to the Summon menu to do this and see what options are available. Part of this option list will change all the time with different limited time offers and different daily free summons.

To make a summon you will need either skull orbs or master orbs. You can purchase these or your krystals to exchange for them. You can get krystals generally by playing the game and collecting rewards, this is the basic summoning material.

The Daily Free Summon is particulatly good if you are free to play, but it's only available once per day. The mechanics of the game looks like it can be tough to get new characters, so you may have to be content with the ones you pull for a little while. But don't just focus on one character, try to develop a whole team.

Look out Limited Time offers in the Summon menu where you can try to pull top tier characters. It's not easy, and you'll have to spend a lot of material to get one of these, but they generally will be some of the best characters in the game.

Daily Login Rewards and New Player Login Rewards

Tap the thee lines menu in the top right of the screen to collect your daily log in and new player rewards. Don't forget as these rewards will help a lot to give you the material to help level up your Kollection and sometimes will give you gear and consumables too.

At the start of the game, don't be too stressed about gear, but as you progress it will definitely be an important contributor to your overall success and strength in the game.

As you pick up new bits of gear, remember to swap out inferior bits for stronger bits of gear to fighters in your main team.

  • Relics

Relics are other items that you can equip to a fighter to make them even stronger. All of the relics have different effects, and like gear and fighters have different rarities. Although any relic is better than none, look out for opportunities to bad strong relics when you can in your journey through the game.

Creating your Team

There are seven different class types in MK: Onslaught and to create an effective team you'll need fighters of all of the different classes as some battles will be more appropriate for certain classes. Here is a rundown of all of the different classes in the game.

  • Assassin

These Melee Fighters offer high attack power but generally have lower health than warriors. They tend to aim for the most dangerous opponents in a team first.

  • Warriors

Melee Fighters are strong and have a high attack, defense and health level. Solely used to deal damage, an effective warrior is an essential part of most teams.

  • Attacker

This class is a Ranged Fighter, they may have high attack values, but their defense is usually poor.

  • Sniper

The sniper is like a mix of an assassin and attacker, they will aim for the most dangerous opponents, but are weak in their own defense. Their attack values are usually the highest, but that comes at a cost of low defense and HP.

  • Defender

This Melee Fighters are is the tank class in the game, use one of these to protect your weaker units and to hold back enemies from attacking other members of your team.

  • Support

These fighters will generally stay at the back and primarily buff the rest of your team. They can also heal and debuff enemies. Don't expect much in the way of direct attack from them though.

Mind, Body, Spirit

Pay attention as well to the affinity of your fighters. Each one will have one of three Affinities: Mind, Body, or Spirit. Fighters may be strong against one affinity but weak against another, so learn their affinities and work out how best to line up your team prior to an encounter. This is a good reason to develop not just four characters, but a wide range.

That concludes my beginners guide to MK: Onslaught, I hope that it's helpful in some way and clears up some of things about the game which you may not have know. Remember to check out our MK Onslaight Tier List where we have ranked all currently playable characters so you can check how your roster fits in with our tier list and see who we think are the best fighters in the game.
