Attack the Dragon Staff. Once it is damaged enough, you get a window of time to attack the dragon. Aim between the jaws so the damage affects both parts, dealing more, for less. Recommend use of the Warrior upgrade (180,000 coins in character customization) as it can help with the Staff attacking, and minions when dragon has low health. High Mage (180,000 coins) is good with Penumbra Suit, the Dark Ring you can bug (120,000 coins) and Death Scythe for speed running, as the Dark damage scales the Class Effect/Skill. If H. Mage Skill is done 4 to 5 times, it will kill the Dragon with that setup. Good luck!
