You can spend a good amount of gold coins and gems in Treasure Hunt so that you can get equipment. Below is the table for breakdown of cost and their expected drops. It is not recommended to buy epic equipment (costing gems) prior to unlocking ALL of the heroes because it is not cost-effective. The base stats and set of skills of expensive heroes are more worthy of the gems compared to any of the epic items you can get through Treasure Hunt.
There are two kinds of treasures you can open in Treasure Hunt, the basic and the 10x. The 10x will give you multiple items and guarantee one epic equipment (applies for the gem treasure only). Furthermore, Treasure Hunts paid with gold coins are just normal equipment, while the ones you pay with gems are of advanced quality. Only the gem treasures are worth it, it is better for you to use the gold coins in upgrading your skills and equipment.
