Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis - Aerith Best Weapons and Builds

By Paul | Updated: Oct 22nd 2023

Aerith is the game's best healer in the game and the only one with a Limit Break that enables party-healing. She's generally useful in almost any type of mode where you'll need to sustain the entire party for long periods of time. At the same time, her elemental magical damage output is nothing to scoff at, contributing to the overall damage output of the party. Obviously, selecting her weapons and materia around these strengths is the best way to go.

Weapon Tier List

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis features a diverse selection of weapons, mainly obtainable through the game's Draw (gacha) system. Furthermore, each character wields a unique set of weapons exclusive to them. For this reason, we have opted to create individual tier lists for each character instead of a unified, potentially complex one. This approach is necessary because comparing different weapon types is challenging, given that their effectiveness depends on the abilities of their respective users.

Please check out our Weapon System guide for more information about how the weapon system works, as well as our Weapon Enhancement guide to know how to effectively improve your weapons to unleash your characters' combat prowess.

Weapon Tiers

For our tier list, we have only divided them into three tiers: S, A, and B.

S-TierThese weapons are exceptional and considered to be the character's best weapon(s). They're worth every once of resource you dump into them and should be attempted to be drawn if you want to use the character often.

A-TierWeapons in this tier are relatively strong (many of the 5-star weapons fall in this tier) so resources used for improving them are not wasted at all. Since getting specific weapons for characters (especially their top-tier weapons) can be challenging, A-tier weapons are going to be your go-to tier for your character's loadout.

B-TierThis tier is decent enough to get you through the early stages of the game but should be replaced or ditched once you gain access to at least proper A-tier weapons. They're not worth investing in, unless you manage to get several copies of them then use that to increase their rarity, which will make them significantly better.

Tier List

S-Tier

  • Fairy Tale
  • Sun Umbrella
  • Guard Stick

A-Tier

  • Wizard Staff
  • Wizer Staff
  • Silver Staff
  • Prism Rod
  • Full Metal Staff

B-Tier

  • Mythril Rod
  • Striking Staff

Aerith's Best Weapons

Fairy Tale

This weapon gives Aerith the best party-healing core ability in the game (Curaga), while also possessing the highest Heal stat in the game, further complemented by Boost Heal R-ability. This weapon alone turns Aerith into a more potent heal bot that's almost guaranteed to keep your entire party alive no matter what is thrown at them.

Sun Umbrella

This summer weapon has the best DEF debuff ability in the game as it can lower enemies' PDEF and MDEF. Unfortunately, these debuffs apply only on single targets but nevertheless, still exceptionally useful against tougher boss-type enemies. Its C-ability allows Aerith to deal decent damage as well, which can be further supplemented by the weapon's R-abilities that boosts MATK and Magic Ability potency.

Guard Stick

This weapon is Aerith's best weapon dedicated to support and healing. She gains access to a Manaward skill that boosts the MDEF while healing a single ally. Not only that, its two R-abilities boost Heal and Aerith's Limit Break potential. Ideally paired with Fairy Tale to take advantage of their respective Boost Heal R-ability bonuses.

Prism Rod

At full rarity and level, this weapon bears the highest single-target (magical) Wind damage multiplier, which is further complemented by the weapon's own R-ability that boosts wind potential. However, equipping this weapon will significantly change Aerith's role in the team as a backup magical DPS. Since Aerith is not really meant even as a backup magical damage dealer and the number of battles where the wind element excels, this weapon is not delegated to the S tier because of limited uses and overall utility or value to the party.

Aerith's Best Builds

For more information about sub-weapons and how they affect your builds, please check out our Sub-Weapons Guide.

Support and Healer

This build is pretty straightforward and taps Aerith's ideal role of the party's healer.

  • Main Weapon: Fairy Tale
  • (Heal all party members at Ability Tier 1)

  • Secondary Weapon: Guard Stick (C-ability increases an ally's MDEF while healing them; R-abilities: Boost Heal and Limit Break Pot.)

For your sub-weapons for this build, you'll want the following weapons with Boost Heal as their R-ability.

  • Assault Gun (R-ability 2: Boost Ice Resist)
  • Crystal Sword (R-ability 2: Boost Earth Resist)
  • Defender (R-ability 2: Boost Ice Pot.)
  • Enhance Sword (Z) (R-ability 2: Boost Ability Pot)
  • Grand Gloves (R-ability 2: Boost Water Pot)
  • Hardcore Squad (R-ability 2: Boost Crit. Pot.)
  • Lifeguard Wraps (R-ability 2: Boost Fire Resist)
  • Platinum Collar (R-ability 2: Boost Crit. Pot.)
  • Prime Number (R-ability 2: Boost Lightning Resist)
  • Tranquilizer Gun (R-ability 2: Boost Ability Pot.)

Debuffer and Magical DPS

This gives Aerith more utility as she can contribute to the overall team's damage by dealing solid non-elemental magical damage to a single target while also applying PDEF and MDEF debuffs at the same time. The main downside of this build is that it requires a specific weapon. As for the secondary weapon, we have opted for the Wizard Staff that will allow her to deal lightning damage against multiple enemies (at C-ability Tier 1 onwards) while further boosting her MATK and lighting potential.

  • Main Weapon: Sun Umbrella
  • Secondary Weapon: Wizard Staff (Gives access to Thundaga, Boost MATK and Lightning Potential)

For her sub weapons, we will opt for the following MATK-boosting ones:

  • CC Alloy Sword (R-ability 2: Boost Lightning Pot.)
  • Mythril Saber (R-ability 2: Boost Ability Pot.)
  • Tiger Fangs (R-ability 2: Boost Crit Pot.)

Pure Magical Elemental DPS

Aerith can take advantage of these three staves that give her access to high-tier magical attack abilities that targets all enemies. However, the main weapon you have to give her will change accordingly depending on the type of enemies you're planning to use them against.

  • Wizard Staff : Thundaga (Lightning)
  • Wizer Staff : Quaga (Earth)
  • Silver Staff : Blizzara (Ice)

For the sub-weapons, you can select from any of the following; just adjust accordingly depending whether you want Aerith to deal Lighting, Earth or Ice damage.

  • Absolute Royal (R-ability 2: Boost Ice Pot.)
  • CC Alloy Sword (R-ability 2: Boost Lightning Pot.)
  • Edged Wings (R-ability 2: Boost Ice Pot.)
  • Jiggy Fam (R-ability 2: Boost Earth Pot.)
  • Mythril Saber (R-ability 2: Boost Ability Pot.)
  • Sun Umbrella (R-ability 2: Boost Mag Ability Pot.)
  • Tiger Fangs (R-ability 2: Boost Crit Pot.)
  • Wizard Staff (R-ability 2: Boost Lightning Pot.)

If you really want to dedicate Aerith towards contributing to your team's damage, you can switch Aerith's Limit Break to her second one, Seal Evil that will allow her to deal non-elemental physical or magical damage to all enemies though personally, I wouldn't do that unless you have another healer in the team (Like Tifa with Support/Healer build)
