After you unlock the second world do you need to pay more or watch more ads for other worlds?

Pretty much, but it's not too terrible. You need to watch ads to acquire the bridge pieces, but within the game sometimes you come upon a chest that allows 2x points for clicking the leaves, after watching an ad.
