1. Check the chests for your target equipment

You can check the chests in the starting area for the prices and effects of each equipment. From there, you can pick what equipment to save for. I suggest getting the shoes that let you jump over one block pits.

2. Use obstacles as stops

A large amount of obstacles can be used to stop your character from moving. It doesn't seem possible, but the spike trap which is abundant can be used as a stopper if it's extended and your character bumped into it. Use these various stoppers to time your movements.

3. Check the control schemes

To the right of the starting area, there is a gear button. This is the settings menu. In here, you can select different control schemes. Check each one to see which fits you better.

4. Purchase quests from the Quest Keeper

If you approach the pedestal in the middle, you can purchase and select which dungeon is laid out before you. These other quests aren't infinite and reward you with artifacts which give you more life so that you don't get instantly killed by traps in the dungeon.

5. Chest Colors

The chests you see around the map have their own color that corresponds to how much gold they hold inside. For example, a blue chest holds the least amount of coins. If you see a blue chest in a difficult section, just ignore it if you think it is too risky to go grab it.

6. Choose your held item based on what gives you the most trouble

Your held item in the Torch's slot holds an edge over traps and other contraptions in the dungeon. If you are having trouble with the gate's time limit as it always seems to run out, get the staff that lowers nearby gates thus, eliminating the need to go press the button which is usually located in a dangerous place. If circular saws give you trouble, get the one that slows them down. etc.
