Gamer reviews for Skyline Skaters
Take to the rooftops with this skateboard based endless runner
Skyline Skaters is an endless runner type game where you basically take to the rooftops and avoid stuff while collecting as many coins and power-ups as you can while running as far as possible.
This is no easy task, as compared to a lot of other endless runners such as subway surfers, the difficulty steps up quite significantly after just a couple of minutes into playing the game. It's an easy game to play and get started but it's also incredibly difficult to master. Getting your run past 2000m is a big achievement in my opinion.
The game is free to download and there are in-app purchases if you want to make them. None are necessary to adequately enjoy the game. You can unlock extra characters and improve your collectible powerups in the game by collecting enough coins for free during gameplay, then exchanging those in the shop for whatever you want.
As mentioned already, the game does get quite difficult quite quickly, this can be a bit off putting and frustrating for some people as the games can last a relatively short period of time. As is usual, there are a in-game missions to complete and you can purchase skips for any that are too hard.
The game is very easy to control, just tap the screen. One thing to watch out for though is that the continue button is just where I like to tap so often find myself using up the free 'bucks' I get in the game to continue by mistake - I wish they'd fix that!
Collect a series of letters to make up the chosen word for your current run and you unlock superskate mode with the chance to pick up a humungous number of coins.
Graphically, the game is very good, and on a par with the best in this genre.
In conclusion, it's definitely worthy of a download especially if you like more challenging endless running games.
