Pickle Pete Cheats and Tips

Pickle Pete is another rogue-like survival game where you take on wave after wave of enemies before taking on a boss and completing the level.

As you play through there are loads of different upgrades and weapons to choose from so understanding which are the best upgrades and weapons is important. We take a look at some of these questions below and give our point of view as a player of Pickle Pete.

Please leave your own opinions in the comments, as we would love to know which are your favorite weapons and upgrades in the game.

What are the best weapons in the game?

We've had a great answer sent in to us about the best weapons to use and upgrade in Pickle Pete: Survivor, to read the answer in full head to Best Weapons to Use and Upgrade.

Basically the game is pretty well balanced, so depending on how you like to play the game, having a mix of different weapons is probably a good option.

When given the choice you need to equip rarer weapons though, as they will generally be stronger. You don't get these immediately in the game though, so you'll have to make do with normal weapons in the beginning.

Should I fill all my weapons slots?

Yes, I would say it is a priority to fill all of your weapon slots as soon as possible, you can then work on upgrades later.

What is the best boost to get?

I prefer to get a mix of boosts as I play through the game. If given the option, I will start of with stronger attack boosts then later opt for more defense or speed if I get that as a selection.

What's the best way to defeat the boss

Usually in this type of game, running around and not staying still is the best advice! And for the level 1 boss, this advice is pretty much correct. The first boss in the game appears after numerous waves, so you would have had plenty of chances to get a load of weapons and boost, this will make the job of defeating the level 1 boss easier.

You should definitely keep moving when taking on the boss and allow your long range attacks to slowly deplete his hit points until he is defeated.

What are the best weapons to use and upgrade?

I have not finished the game yet but my favorites are: 1) the minigun, which has increditable fire rate and decent damage and range, 2) the taser, which has great damage, range and the electric current bounces between enemies, 3) the plasma gun, which has great range and also bounces between enemies. Ultimately, the best weapons are more rare and you don't get them immediately. Unfortunately I haven't unlocked any of these as a default weapon yet so I use an upgraded shotgun. Honestly the game is well balanced so you can do well with virtually any weapon combos. Shotguns are good for close range carnage but terrible at a distance. Sniper rifles are ideal to kill from across the room. The automatics are a good choice for a quick hitting shot, although it is weak as tour only weapon. The throwing knives do good damage at close range but take their time returning to you. You can even use melee weapons, which offer good damage for a low price at a cost of range. Try to earn/buy a full compartment of weapons asap, to maximize your power. You can always merge/sell them later. The game is fairly generous with its pickle drop rate so you'll have a ton of weapons and accessories by the end of level five, six or seven. Play with all the weapons and use the ones that you like best. You rarely get your ideal weapon configuration every game so you might as well be familiar with all of them. And don't start merging the guns until you have a full roster. Six lesser weapons do much more damage than three upgraded weapons. The most important part of combat is movement. Shoot your shots, then find the next safe place to attack next. Use the roll button to escape danger or put distance between you and the mob. Survival/safety is more important than your kill count. Try to avoid getting swarmed by keeping active and moving. ... + 2 More Answers

What is the best mutation?

I did go with the 4%hp on crit 1s cooldown. Combined that with a machine gun, works pretty good. ... + 3 More Answers

What is the passive weapon?

There are certain pickle upgrades you can buy between levels that adds different weapons that go off automatically, like orbiting sawblades ect.

What does mechanical damage do?

The land mine & pipe bomb are mechanical too, & none of the four mentioned use up weapon spots. They're good to have on waves with lots of enemies. They can help clear some out, so you don't get overrun. There are also some mechanical weapons which do use up weapon spots, so be careful when choosing. ... + 1 More Answers

What are the mechanic weapons? I guess I'm slow with understanding that part if the game lol.

Check for the little cog symbol on the weapons. Wrenches, cogs, nailguns, anvils, blade boomerangs. Side damage with saw blades and turrets and more wrenches. Been testing a mechanic build using Eggplant Eddie. His shock wave is great for knocking everything back with a lil damage. The smg doesn't help with knockback like a shotgun or wrench when dealing with hoards getting too close in the Endless, or when taking out a base. Getting close is dangerous but you hit harder. The spark on the mechanic suit is similar to the vampire suit life drain and picks up health fairly well too. Invest in crit chance. So far so good. As for the can specials the mine carts are pretty fun. Not sure if the cans are meant for certain builds or not. Just testing things out. Trying rage once it is leveled enough. ... + 1 More Answers
