Words like JE, ESQ and many others, used to be valid, as of about a week ago they are no longer accepted...

Words like JE, ESQ and many others, used to be valid, as of about a week ago they are no longer accepted. I did an update and they still won't accept. What do I need to do in order to get these words accepted again. On the same board I'll be playing with someone who plays, say JE and when I try to play the word on the same board it won't accept. It's becoming frustrating to win when they have more acceptable small words.
