I have a tier 15 the akms but the one round I am trying to do says it’s red because the max tier..

I have a tier 15 the akms but the one round I am trying to do says it’s red because the max tier is 14 why can’t I use the gun or how do I upgrade it to use it for that round?

If the round max tier is 14 then you cannot take any weapons above that level. You will need to find a lower tier weapon to use.
