You can get the items from the log pile, you'll need to merge to level 8 to get the stack of crates to use in the Apple Adversary challenge you'll get some coins and energy for your troubles.
But bear in mind to complete the crate you'll need about 150 or so energy! And you only get 30 back as a prize...
