How do you store extra items to make room on the board?

The little cabinet thing at the left bottom of the screen opposite the drill. Drag items you want to store there. Tap them to return them to the board. You can buy more space with gems.

I bought new inventory slot for 65 red gems but it doesn’t appear anywhere in my board and inventory slot says buy new slot for 150
