I find the advertising for this game offensive. Is this game about domestic abuse?

I think this game is deeply disturbing with the scenarios playing out which always involve women and children being victims of extreme poverty or cruelty. There’s something sinister about it and the fact that adverts keep popping up on other games and depicting these scenes is a concern. The game creators could have thought up many other scenarios than this - what on earth was the objective here? I question the motives
