Brotato Cheats and Tips

With all of the Roguelike games available to play on mobile devices, it's easy to let a couple of good ones slip you by. So we were stoked when we discovered Brotato, a cool and well made fast-paced roguelike game.

We've taken it for a spin and put together our best cheats, tips and tricks to help you be bad to the bone in no time at all.

Brotato Cheats and Tips

This is a cool take on the roguelike genre, in the game you play a potato, although an incredibly well armed one! Here are our best cheats, tips and tricks aimed at beginners to the game.

Fill your weapon slots

You'll want to fill your six weapons slots as soon as you can, although there is a decent argument to leave one slot free to make it easier to complete weapons upgrades.

Having a well armed Brotato is one of the main keys to the game because the difficulty will ramp up quite a lot with each level, you'll need to be sure you have the best weapons and upgrades that are available.

Don't get Trapped

Remember to keep moving and don't get trapped in one part of the screen, especially a corner. Sometimes, you'll just be able to break through a mass of enemies, but other times you just won't have the hit points to do that, so best not to get trapped in a corner in the first place.

Keep moving

In the early stages especially, you'll need to keep moving, you won't be strong enough to just stay wtill and you'll likely be crushed pretty quickly.

Try manual aim

If the default auto aim is not working out well for you then head to settings > gameplay where you can activate manual aim. TO be honest, for me, the auto aim works like a dream in most scenarios, but if all else fails and you just can't get past a certain point, you may want to give manual aim a try. Note: Manual aim is only available on the PC version of Brotato, not the mobile versions.

Find the fruit

As well as the green consumables that you pick up, there are also bits of similarly colored fruit on the game screen, this will give your health a boost, so look out for it and grab it when you can. Just not when you are a t full health already!

Landmines and Turrets are good weapon choices

These are both pretty good weapon choices in a lot of situations if you are given this as an option. The landmines especially can be used in such a way that you can lead the enemies to walk onto them as a group, doing a lot of damage.

Just for the fun of it, we thought we'd put together this Noob vs Pro vs Hacker video. Althought set in the early stages of the game. You can see the difficulty does ramp up pretty quickly.

We cut out all of the weapon decision making that comes after the completion of each wave, to keep the flow of the video better.

But, the weapons and upgrades that you pick are really important. If you are unsure, go for the recommended selection that the game gives you or reroll.

Don't forget you may need to recycle weapons in order to free up a slot to upgrade a particular weapon, shame you just can't purchase the weapons and it combines with the one already in your inventory.
