By Richard Gardner | Oct 13th 2026

October has been good to the cozy crowd already. Two of the month's best-looking releases landed on the 1st, a cozy driving game followed on the 9th, and the seasonal events have started turning spooky.

Winter Burrow has you rebuilding a mouse's woodland home through a hard winter, Pusheen's Place brings the internet's favourite cat to Apple Arcade, Truckful sends you down country roads in an old pickup, and Cooking Diary has its Halloween season running.

Here's the full list.

New and Recently Launched Cosy Games - October 2026

Winter Burrow

Release: 1st October 2026

Noodlecake brought Winter Burrow to iOS and Android on 1st October, and it's $5.99 with no ads or in-app purchases. Apple gave it an Editor's Choice spot on the App Store.

You play a mouse who has left the city behind and come back to a run-down childhood home in the forest. The burrow needs restoring, which means gathering resources, crafting what you need, and keeping warm while deep winter does its worst. Your aunt has gone missing, and finding out what happened to her is what pulls you out into the woods.

It sits between cozy and survival rather than picking one. There are insects and cold to deal with and you can come unstuck, but the pace is unhurried and the fireplace in your burrow is where the game wants you to end up. Pocket Gamer's write-up put it somewhere between Don't Starve and Stardew Valley.

Pusheen's Place

Release: 1st October 2026 (Apple Arcade)

Electric Square's Pusheen's Place joined Apple Arcade on 1st October, alongside Terraria and River City Survivors.

The job is collecting cats. There are more than 100 Pusheens to find, including Pancake Pusheen, Laptop Pusheen and Banana Pusheen, and you can pet them, feed them and look after them once they move in. Around that you decorate your rooms with the items you pick up and play through a set of mini-games.

It's as gentle as the licence suggests, and the Arcade version comes without ads or in-app purchases.

Truckful

Release: 9th October 2026 (Android)

Truckful came to Android and PC on 9th October, developed by MythicOwl and published by Pocketpair Publishing. An iOS version hasn't been dated.

You drive an old pickup along countryside roads, through wetlands and into small towns, with parcels to drop off along the way. It's a single-player game built around the driving and the places rather than a schedule, and there's a strangeness underneath the calm: the further into the old forest you get, the less settled it feels.

Coming in October - New and Updates

Cooking Diary

Update: 7th October 2026

Mytona's October update for Cooking Diary is its Halloween season, and the Halloween Chef's Pass is where the rewards sit, with a friendly ghost among them.

The Tasty Airlines event takes you into a mansion with its secrets to work through, and introduces a new assistant in Toby the werewolf. The Food Truck event has eight spooky outfits to collect, and two new restaurants open up: the Valley of Gold and the Shabu-Shabu House.

There's story running alongside it too. Monsieur LeShan is trying to find somewhere to take someone special on a date, and a set of mysterious notes is threatening to derail Gladrius Po's new show.

Sunshine Island

Update: 28th September 2026

Goodgame Studios pitched its latest Sunshine Island update at the turn of the season, and its two events run into October.

Cocoa Fever has Ikaika collecting hot cocoa mugs so you can get the hot chocolate going, and Dino Discovery adds new boosters that break through obstacle tiles and speed up your digging.

One Piece: Grand Gourmet

Expected: 23rd October 2026

Kairosoft is making a restaurant management game out of One Piece, and ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet arrives on iOS and Android on 23rd October, published by Bandai Namco. It's coming to Switch, Switch 2 and PC the same day.

You're building up the Baratie Number Two, taking it from a small ship to a floating restaurant with Sanji. That means collecting ingredients, working out dishes and arranging them into meal sets, then decorating the place from a catalogue of more than 200 pieces of furniture and fittings.

More than 400 One Piece characters turn up as staff and customers in Kairosoft's pixel style, with their own events and interactions, and the ones who like what you've done with the place start coming back as regulars.

On the Horizon

Petit Planet

Expected: Winter 2026

Petit Planet is HoYoverse's first cozy game, due this winter on iOS, Android and PC through the Epic Games Store, with pre-registration open on both mobile stores.

You look after your own small planet out in the Starsea, with Luca, the planet's vitality, shaping its landscapes as you go. The days fill up with planting, fishing, mining, cooking, crafting and beachcombing, and neighbours settle in and become friends through conversations and gifts. Starsea Voyages take you out to unknown Islets to find rare creatures and recipes, and the Galactic Bazaar is where travellers meet, trade and run festival events.

HoYoverse has one more beta to run before launch, described as the final one, with the dates still to be announced. That's the next thing to watch for if you want in early.

That's October. Township's Halloween Pass is still running from late September, and Cats & Soup's anniversary content is live too, so there's plenty to go at while you wait for One Piece. We'll be back with November's cozy picks next month.
