Gamer reviews for Cut the Rope
Feed the ever-hungry Om Nom.
If you're a long-time gamer seeking a break from frantic pace of actioners and RPGs, in favor of something really slow and thought-based, then Cut the Rope is something you'll want to check out. This puzzle game features Om Nom, an adorable little green alien with a major sweet tooth. And your sole objective for every is to figure out a way to transport his favorite treat (a candy) over to him.
Each level has a total of 25 stages which (as expected) increases in difficulty the further you go. And while some of the later stages in later levels can prove somewhat frustrating, the difficulty bump is pretty gradual so players will have enough time to adjust.
For the most part, the game also lets you take all the time you need to solve a stage, with a few exceptions of when Om Nom's candy is in immediate danger of shattering, or when there are timed stars that vanish when you take too long to get them. Each star is worth 1000 points and there are three in each stage. The only small consequence for taking too long to complete level, is perhaps losing on the bonus points given at the end of the stage.
The stage design for this title is simple and a bit bare but I suppose it's understandable, given that putting up something too detailed or flashy may prove distracting. The music tracks however are very well done and fun. It has a sort of calming effect (for me at least) when the stages start to get on your nerves a little bit.
All in all, the game gets very high marks for longevity and although a free version is available for download, that one is more like a demo than anything, where playable stages are very limited (not to mention filled to the brim with ads). As such it would be best to simply purchase the full version of the game for a reasonably low price of $2.99 on the Appstore or a real bargain of $0.99 on Google Play.
