Gamer reviews for Tap Heroes!
A Game to Get You Tapping Away for Hours
Tap Heroes - A game that can literally play itself! Basically, if you are not familiar with this new kind of tap to attack genre, you take control of your character on one side of the playing area, and your enemy is on the other - And you basically either tap your warrior to heal him or tap the enemy to attack him. As you progress into the game other characters appear such as a mage - which heals your warrior without the need for you to tap him - And incidentally your warrior can also attack without the need for a tap - thus after a few minutes the game can happily grind away pointlessly on it's own earning your gold which you can spend on improvements to your characters.
After you have beaten a set of enemies you are prompted to select a green arrow to take you to the next level and so it continues - you do encounter some incredibly hard bosses in the game, and further time grinding may be necessary. The only time it's probably essential to intervene is during the boss battles and especially against the extremely powerful dragons.
The game looks great, and to be fair does not hide the fact that it is an 'idle' game, it's an incredibly simple concept and does not try to be anything different, but it does what it does very well.
The music fits in with the game, although if you intend to let the game grind away on it's own for hours - you may want to turn the sound down!
It was actually a few minutes into the game before I realised I could let the game play by itself - which was lucky as my finger was getting a tad tired.
All in all a fairly decent game - but would I pay for it? No, sorry, but I would download a free ad-supported one to play occasionally.
We've given it a 3 out of 5 basically just because of the concept - there is not much of a challenge. But saying that, if you are looking for this kind of game, then you could do far worse than download a copy of Tap Heroes - what it does, it does do well.
