¿Why I'm always the weakest or one of the 2-3 weakest players in the Arena?

¿Why I'm always the weakest or one of the 2-3 weakest players in the Arena? ¿Why I've NEVER been the most powerful on an Arena round? When my squad was over 50,000 all opponents were from 70k to 100k. While I've been leveling up, opponents level up quickly. Now my squad is over 120,000 and my opponents are from 170k to 220k. I would like to be the most powerful player some time, but I'm ALWAYS one of the 2-3 weakest players, and many times the weakest by a lot.
The tips provided in the other answer are sound, but for those who did "rush it" you're pretty much stuck. I've stopped participating in the Arenas myself (in part because the last week I've been unable to get matched into a competition). Of course to get the daily achievement you need to go through one full set of battles and a couple more - but you don't have to win and there is no penalty for losing in the arena. (Again, assuming you can get in). The free awards available in the store actually pay out more than you're likely to get anyway, so I'm just building those up until I get enough to buy the items from the store I want. Some of the unique weapons are very helpful so it's worth grinding for that. But until they fix the algorithm to make it more fair I'm not bothering with the actual competition part anymore. Even if I could get in.

Essentially if you have just recently upgraded a CC/Training room you will get matched with other plays that have equivalent CC/Training rooms.
Do not rush base! Upgrade command centre and training rooms last. Always max upgrades of rooms. When at command center level 6 stay there with troops at 40 40 40 39 level. This will keep you down a tier in Arena (look up hustle castle arena tiers, same rules apply here).
Once at 25k+ Arena currency then upgrade to cc7. This will upgrade special forces chest and open up legendary weapons in said chest.
Open chest three times. Equip all weapons, stay at same fighter level. Repeat process. Then train troops to next tier level, which will change level of weapons awarded in SF chest. Open and own the Arena all over again.
Don’t rush troop upgrades, or this will have detrimental affect on game play experience with harder to beat opponents in Arena battles.
