How do you unlock a family? I've been having troubles trying to find out how to unlock a family member

Once you reach level 5 you can find a mate, then once both of you are level 10 you can have a baby if you both sleep in the den. After the first baby both parents need to be level 20 to have another.

To get another generation u need to tap on family tree when ur selecting ur animal. Then it will show how much times u need to get that animal from chests.
