You cannot create chat rooms in SoS... Therefore, your chats are one on one, with the alliance, or with the state. If you are in a PZ strike team, there is a special chat room that opens that way, so you can (essentially) start a PZ and invite alliance members to the strike team and have a temporary chat window. However, it would not be private, as anyone can add themselves to the strike team (provided it is not already full).

It is easier to create a server in Discord.

Not completely accurate. In my group the r5 and r4 have PM with just the 3 of us. Not a chat room for strike team.
