If you are using an iPhone flip it so the end (charger side) is on your left. Mine was an iOS 13 issue.

I don’t know when you posted this or when you had a reply. I just downloaded the game and am having the same problem. I have tapped the key and it isn’t at all registering that I’m trying to grab it so it isn’t dragging anywhere. Very frustrating especially for the first start of a game. Just wanted share. Good day!
