The reality is that to progress you do need to take the x10 ad offers a lot of the time otherwise you won't power up enough to defeat later levels. We've stripped out a lot of the ads that we saw while making the video, but we did actually watch quite a few.

The best way, especially in the early part of the game is to watch videos in exchange for gems, because you'll need gems to purchase monsters to strengthen your team in the game.

Look out for the Daily Reward to something special every day for seven days. Also look out for the flying gift reward that pops across your screen now and again, usually the gem rewards are quite good.

Merge your monsters before the start of the round in order to level them up and unlock new monsters. You can't merge during gameplay.

Purchase the most expensive monsters that you can early in the game, they will stay with you for later rounds and enable. There is no sense in hanging onto gems, you may as well purchase more monsters, merge them and unlock more.

This will help you earn more gems anyway.

The between level ads are a bit annoying, you can purchase something in the game which will remove these ads though. Although you'll still get ad offers for free gems - but you don't have to take them!

Don't forget to collect your idle rewards too and there is sometimes an offer to double the gems with a video ad.
