No you can't tell before they appear. They are placed randomly. You then see the direction that it will fire once you set it off.
If you don't like the direction then you can try to generate another rocket next to the first one. If 2 are next to each other then when you fire one it will fire in both directions.

Doesn’t have to be next to it, just facing each other in the same line or row will make one turn. Bump pairs off the field to place them facing each other if they aren’t already. If you want one to go down, place it inline where you want it then click on the one further away, it will force the one you want to go down 0 0 REPORT

Most of the time, left to right evens are side to side, left to right odds are up and down. I've been tracking over an hour, and maybe 3 didn't fit this theory. Guest Replied
