How do the transporters work?

The transporters are not a boost which can be controlled. The transporter is a white spinning circle at the bottom of a column. Let's call this "transport out."
When your game piece reaches the bottom transporter (out) your game piece will be moved to the top of the column with the "intake transporter".
When the cube or seed bag reaches the spinning "transporter", it will reappear at the top of the column

But level 135 has three transporters at the bottom of the screen and none at the top. I can't see a pattern. I get rid of a matching set at the bottom and it seems to disappear. Nothing transports anywhere, as far as I can see! 2 0 REPORT
