Dune is an endless runner where you move forward and use the peaks in the terrain to jump into the air and score points. The aim is to continue as far as possible and score points, but the skill comes from keeping the speed high but not crashing on each landing.

The best advice is practice to get used to when to press the screen to make the best landings. Hitting the ground safely while keeping your speed is the trick to making the big jumps.

Scoring

There is a line above you that grants you a point every time you jump above it. with further lines at higher levels that grant more points for going:

'to the moon'

'and beyond'.

These are not shown as lines in the main background but are shown roughly as images of either the moon / planets or as other indicators in different backgrounds.

There are also score multipliers from making smooth landings. These give you 2x or 4x your score for each jump height so will really help you reach the higher scores.

Mechanics

The game mechanics are simple, as the onscreen instructions show when you start. Touching the screen has the effect of increasing your speed forward when on the ground and downwards when flying.

How to play Dune

To progress, you need to hold your finger on the screen to move forward while on the ground, release it as you take off to gain maximum height and then touch the screen again at the right time to bring the ball into a safe landing.

Landing on a down slope is a safe landing and hitting it at a good angle will grant you a smooth landing multiplier bonus on your jump points. Landing on an up slope is a hard landing and if you do this at any great speed (it doesn't take much) will end your run.
