Once the bullets (balls, ammo, whatever) come back to the base, they are "collected" by the target gun at the bottom. How can you move or position the collector so that your next shot starts where you want?

For level 189, all the Solutions I've seen online have the 1st volley result in a gun position I cannot replicate. And starting your 2nd shot from that position is absolutely critical. Is there a way to select where your gun ends up for subsequent shots?
